Copic markers are felt pens so how do you prevent accidentally going over an area when colouring. it's not like coloured pencils, pastels etc not sure how to explain this but when i played around with the markers eg draw a thick straight line, then draw another line parallel to it, if the second line touches the first line, then there's a darkened patch where the 2 meet so how do you colour in without messing the picture up ?
I am assuming you are talking about using the same color with your lines...granted if you use two different colors you will get the mix..just like you would in ANY medium. Actually Copics don't leave a darkened area..they blend. The line blends away.
yes, same colour. copic markers came to my local art shop about 18 months ago, and i picked up a few colours to doodle with on the sketch pad they had sitting in the shop. I hadn't seen the colour blending into each other *same colour* but i'd only played with the pens for about 2 - 3 minutes and left after i thought it was similar to the normal felt tip pen. Now very curious about it they're hellishly expensive here though ta for the info
hmm this might sounds like another stupid question, but 'refills are the key' to my ears would be 'refilling a pen you need would be an obvious' but what did you mean, is the ink different once the pen has been refilled ?
no the ink is not different. Copic makes refills for their various markers..you buy the color that you have run out of and refill it and continue to use it.
