In April, StarWarsShop kicked off a year-long celebration of The Empire Strikes Back's 30th anniversary with an exclusive new artist series featuring the work of some of today's most well-known Star Wars illustrators. [link]
Every month starting in March, StarWarsShop will release one new limited edition Acme Archives print showcasing a memorable scene from The Empire Strikes Back in serial order -- that is, each new scene will be released in story order as it appeared in the film. What makes this serialized set unique, however, is that each of the 12 scenes will showcase the talents of an artist who brings his or her own individual style to the piece, making for a wonderfully diverse portfolio of artwork inspired by The Empire Strikes Back.
Each giclée on watercolor paper print will be extremely limited -- just 100 prints per artist -- which is sure to make them highly-desirable once the edition is sold out. What's more, each will be the same size (although some will be vertical and others horizontal)12 x 16, and fit in a folio that will be made available with the series launch. With each announcement for a new print, we'll let fans know what day they can expect to see the next in the series posted to StarWarsShop so you know when to check back for the latest entry.
This is the series' fourth entry by Cat Staggs (rough sketch above), which will be available on June 25.
